This is my current project funded by the British Academy and held at the University of Oxford (U.K.). The project will reconstruct farming practices within the framework of urbanism, social inequality, and past empire in the Southern Levant during the Bronze and Iron Ages (3,600 – 332 BCE). Follow the science live by reading project updates on the blog!
This was a seed grant (subsidy A) funded by the Stichting Nederlands Museum voor Anthropologie en Praehistorie and held at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands). The project reconstructed diet and farming in western Turkey during the Bronze Age (5,500 – 2,600 BCE). Work in the laboratory just finished and we are waiting for results now, so stay tuned!
Since 2015, I have been the faunal analyst at the site of Athribis (Egypt). The project is led by the University of Tübingen (Germany) and is funded by the DFG. The animal remains date to the early Islamic period (ca. 800-1,200 CE) and come from the waste layers of the ancient tempel of Repit.
I obtained my PhD at the University of Tubingen (Germany) in June 2021. I reconstructed developments in diet in the southern Levant during the Bronze and Iron Ages (3,600 – 332 BCE). Find out about the project that kickstarted my academic journey here.
